April 17, 2006

New York, NY April 17, 2006  -- Verizon Communications, the wireless powerhouse renewed its advertising contract with SkyMedia for the third time. The renewal comes on the heels of an independent study just released.

“Because the airplane tray table media is fairly new, the effectiveness of the media has only recently been investigated” said Dr. Mark Guadagnoli, the president of Triad Consulting.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the exposure rate and recall rate of airplane tray table advertisements. Such information will allow agencies to predict the cost effectiveness of tray table media. The study concluded that 93% of the passengers that used their tray tables during flight correctly recalled  the Verizon ad campaigns. Recall was unaided. 75 percent of all passengers reported that the tray table media was an effective venue for advertisers.

Triad Consulting worked directly with Verizon Wireless (client), Universal McCann who handles the planning duties, and Zenith Optimedia who is the media procurement entity developing the survey questionnaire and passenger interviewing protocol. A total of 400 passengers were interviewed.

SkyMedia International specializes in on-board aircraft advertising and has 42,000 passenger seat tray table ads available on 340 airplanes in its inventory onboard US Airways and America West Airlines fleets.
